What You Need to Know About Green Tea

Green tea has been known for a long time in Indonesia,  however, it was recently widely consumed after the increasing popularity of Japanese cuisine. The determining factor for the reputation of green tea is after the researchers have found  of the results of green tea that has so many benefits for human health.

The history of green tea originated in China, which has used green tea as a medicinal support since 4,000 years ago. And now nutrition researchers have found that green tea is very beneficial for health.

In Japan, the tradition of drinking tea originated in China around the 6th century AD. During the Kamakura period, priests Eisai and Dogen spread Zen teachings while introducing matcha (green tea in powder form) which they brought from China as medicine. Tea and Zen teachings are becoming popular as a major ingredient in spiritual enlightenment. Since then, green tea has been recognized for its health benefits and is used by ship crews on long voyages. The planting of tea then began to be carried out everywhere in line with the expanding habit of drinking tea.

Now, let’s talk about the benefit of green tea.

Research on the benefits of green tea continues, until 2004 it was thoroughly known that the components in green tea are powerful antioxidants, which are able to ward off free radical attacks that cause degeneration disorders in human organs, including the emergence of various types of cancer, in including in the esophagus (the entrance to the stomach), stomach, pancreas, intestines, rectum, bladder, prostate, and even the lungs and breasts.

Not just about that, Green tea has been shown to increase metabolic rate and increase fat burning in the short term, although not all studies agree. Since green tea can boost metabolism in the short term, it can be effective at helping you lose weight and to reduce harmful belly fat.

However, the results of this study still need to be confirmed by further research.

What must be considered is that not only one food or drink can protect a person from disease. Even though we get the benefits of green tea by drinking it every day, everything will be in vain if our lifestyle remains bad. (fk)
